About DandeBee Bakery & Art

DandeBee Bakery & Art is a small-batch bakery that creates beautiful edible art. It was established in an endeavor to revive a centuries-old southern German tradition for the people of Texas where German heritage runs deep. Old World-style and also master hand carved springerle cookie molds are used to create beautiful hand molded/embossed specialty cookies (i.e., springerle, speculaas/spekulatius, shortbread, gingerbread, honeycake, etc.) using traditional recipes and high quality ingredients. The cookies, as well as ornaments using the same springerle molds, are a lost art, and people are delighted when they encounter them, as they are often reminded of their heritage. There have been countless stories of Omas or even fathers making springerle using old family molds or decorative rolling pins.
